Workshop details:
This presentation will focus on the healthcare career path of occupational therapy. During this presentation the presenter will share her "OT journey,” including her struggles and strategies for success. Students will have an opportunity to trial skills, techniques and tools commonly used in this profession. In addition, students will learn about the exciting opportunities that the profession of occupational therapy provides and pathways to enter this rewarding career field.
Meet Jenni DiGrado
Assistant Professor, University of St. Augustine for Health Science
Jennie DiGrado works full time as an Assistant Professor at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA. In this role, she teaches both masters and doctorate level occupational therapy students, collaborates with many community partners regarding occupational therapy needs and continues to work as an occupational therapist at a local skilled nursing facility. She obtained her bachelors degree in occupational therapy from Colorado State University in 2000, an occupational therapy doctorate degree from Creighton University in 2010 and a PhD from Walden University in Health Services in 2023. While pursuing her doctorate degrees she worked full time as an occupational therapist and raised three daughters. She is passionate about the profession of occupational therapy, fostering community connections and helping others live meaningful and purposeful lives.
