Discovering Purpose Through Investigation of Self

In Stage One, high school students discover their uniqueness such as personality traits, interests, and learning styles. They learn the value of skills such as perseverance and teamwork, and how to communicate their attributes and competencies to an external environment.

Skill Building: Professional Communication

Topic: Students practice email communication in preparation for work with industry partner.

Essential Question: How can I communicate effectively about myself, my experiences, and my ideas in a professional setting?

Success Through Self-Awareness

Topic: Students discover their personality and those that are similar and different than themselves. Students will reflect about how they work and interact in teams due to their personality.

Essential Question: How do I work and grow?

 

Watch Me Learn

Topic: Students will learn the importance of knowing their unique learning styles and discover the best ways to exercise and grow thier individual brain.

 Essential Question: How can a growth mindset help me use my strengths and weaknesses to reach beyond my current abilities and inform my future decision making?

My Interests

Topic: Students identify RIASEC interests using activities and interest inventory. Students begin reflecting on what they like, who they are, and who they aspire to be.

Expression

Students watch mentor Youth Success videos and reflect on their own progress and growth by answering three reflection questions (in the theme of their choice) and create a Youth Success video.
