As someone who once struggled with finding my own direction and purpose, I understand the challenges that come with career uncertainty. With nearly two decades of experience in local government, I've discovered the true meaning of a purposeful career. Now, I'm passionate about helping others succeed and advance in their own careers. Through sharing my struggles and successes, I aim to inspire and guide the next generation in discovering their own meaningful career paths.
Meet Dan Vasquez
Group Program Manager, County of San Diego
Dan Vasquez has over 15 years of local government experience fostering relationships with diverse stakeholders and implementing innovative programs.
Currently, Dan serves in the County of San Diego’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion division, where he drives programs that promote an inclusive and resilient workforce. His passion for professional development and giving back is reflected in his leadership roles with multiple employee associations and mentorship initiatives. Dan is also a Certified Emergency Manager, and his previous role included leading major regional emergency preparedness projects and the response to numerous disasters ranging from civil unrest to wildfires.
Some of his proudest achievements include leading dynamic teams in developing and executing multiple award-winning programs recognized by the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) and the National Association of Counties (NACo). Beyond his professional commitments, Dan enjoys reading and spending time with his wife and daughter adventuring throughout San Diego.
