Leaders Eat Last, but Breathe First

This workshop is for you if:

  • You see yourself as a leader, but unsure how to maintain a healthy work/life balance

  • Interested in learning more about research-based challenges students face

  • Curious about practical benefits of meditation and want to learn a simple daily meditation practice

Workshop details:

As mindfulness and self-care practices are finding their place in education, especially in response to schools emerging from the pandemic, students and staff need to be comfortable with the benefits of meditation and contemplative practices. Meditation and other mindfulness practices can help individuals address issues of stress, create a more sustainable work-life balance, and find personal growth and fulfillment among the hustle and bustle of academic life. The session will include an overview of current challenges young leaders face, mindfulness strategies to help navigate challenges, and brief guided whole-group meditation with a follow up whole group discussion.
