Meet Elleisha Elzien
Teacher, Youth Advocacy
Elleisha Elzien was raised in San Diego and a Kearny DMD alumni. She is currently a Resource Teacher with the Office of Youth Advocacy, working with student groups across the district to create more engaging opportunities for success and student voice. When she's not working at high schools during the day she also leads creative writing and dance workshops across the city and even different festivals. Her goal is to get people to express their authentic selves by sharing her own authentic self with different communities.
“It’s a bit cliche, but you can’t go wrong by writing what you know. Even if you’re a horrible writer, your own knowledge and experience is unrivaled. Nobody knows what you know like you know what you know. The way you see things is pretty unique.”
